Similar to the software update 1.2.1 for the 5th generation iPods a few days ago – an update is now also available for the second generation iPod Shuffle. The update was triggered as soon as I inserted the iPod in the dock and it went smooth – admittedly I have not noticed any bugs with the previous version so not quite sure what has been fixed in this version. The message in the update just indicated “Bugs”.
Dont suppose theres a standalone version of this update available anywhere? Tried looking on Apple’s site with no luck. Software update needs me to do a 25MB update to iTunes 7.0.2 first but our broadband died last week and stuck on shitty dial up. Just looking for the shuffle updater – at least that mightnt be too big in size. Thanks
I don’t think you can download the iPod updates as standalone – I tried looking around the site, on my machine and elsewhere – but with no luck – it seems you need to get the latest iTunes I’m afraid.
I did not notice any difference after updaing my Shuffle though – If it is any comfort.
yeah – well my iTunes doesn’t even recognize “scruffle” anymore – all problems seem to stem from this “upgrade”
I am, regrettably, opping on a PC – but still, it makes me want to wish a curable STD on steve jobs.
For what it is worth I have not have a single problem with any of my iPods before or after updates. I have not tried it on a PC admittedly – but maybe you can find some help at the Apple support site – I found a lot of useful help there.
